Reactive Airways Dysfunction Syndrome (RADS)
In 2013 I created this site out of total frustration at not being able to find any support or information for people who have RADS (Reactive Airways Dysfunction Syndrome) so its been a wonderful help to my sanity to be able to share my experiences as they happen about this unique and little understood disease / condition.
So VERY PROUD to let you know my BOOK "A Helpful Guide to Reducing Triggers for RADS and Other Breathing Issues" is NOW AVAILABLE as an EBook or Paperback!
Obviously I wish I didn't have RADS but after I was exposed at work to noxious chemicals and vapors, I was eventually diagnosed as having RADS. I would love to find a way to get rid of it however it seems it's more about "learning to live with it" and "reducing triggers!" Having never had any breathing issues in the past and enjoying a full and active life, this all stopped once I got RADS and this was very upsetting for me as it was life changing, very isolating and at times life threatening!
Through this website, I am now in contact with many people around the world with RADS, and have been an advocate, support and consultant for many years. If you would like more details please click here. You can also download the RADS flyer by clicking here. Please note if I don't get back to you asap I maybe having a bad breathing day .. so please be patient.
Reactive Airways Dysfunction Syndrome or RADS is a term proposed by Stuart M. Brooks M.D. and colleagues in 1985 to describe an asthma-like syndrome developing after a single exposure to high levels of an irritating vapor, fume, or smoke. source from Wikipedia
